3M Lense Renewal Kit w/Protectant |
The 3M Lens Renewal Kit with Protectant is an easy and affordable way to repair your vehicle's plastic lens surfaces. The kit contains various graded sanding pads, pad holders, buffing pads, polish, protectant, detailed instructions and 3M headlight masking tape. It includes everything you need to restore the automotive problem of dull headlights. The Lens Renewal Kit with Protectant can also be used to repair hazing on other plastic surfaces, including taillights, emergency light bars, plastic motorcycle lights, trailers, snowmobiles and more. The 3M Lens Renewal Kit with Protectant is easy to use and can be performed by anyone. First, clean the plastic surface to be worked on and tape around the body panels of your vehicle using the included 3M tape. Second, using a drill (1200-1600 rpm) with an attached 3M backing plate, sand away the hazed surface in a two-stage sanding process with the included sanding pads. Third, refine and reduce remaining visible scratches using a drill, 3M backing plate and the foam disc. Fourth, polish and buff your lenses using a drill, 3M backing plate with orange foam compounding pad attached and a small amount of 3M headlight lens polish. Lastly, apply the protectant formula to seal out the elements and maintain crystal clarity. In addition to the drill, you will also need a spray bottle and water used in the wet sanding and buffing processes. Otherwise, everything that you need is included in the kit. The entire process takes under an hour, depending on the extent of the damage.
